Filemaker Data Base Designer/Developer needed immediately for design and deployment of asset tracking system for San Francisco-based magazine. Aggressive project schedule of approximately 90 days, 60 days for DB build and 30 days for template build and web-publishing testing. Ideally, candidate will be based in San Francisco Bay Area and available for weekly development meetings.

Requirements:

• Experience designing, implementing and deploying FileMaker database solutions using FileMaker Pro or Developer, and FileMaker Server, versions 5.5/6 and preferably 7 or 8

• Strong scripting, calculation, and data structuring

• Strong Interface/Template building skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• FileMaker certified developer.

• Ability to install and configure FileMaker Server Advanced; knowledge of ODBC access and custom web publishing.

Project: San Francisco-based magazine wishes to extract much of the existing information from the current Filemaker 5.5 and build a new Filemaker 8 Database. FM8DB will be used to improve the function and content of the existing Editorial and Art database to create a content-searchable and content-retrievable archive of the Publications published materials (35 issues in initial build).

Description: Build a DB that will search and retrieve .txt files and image files, track contributors, contracts, and images through the publishing workflow, calculate usage fees for copyrighted materials, log expenses, and generate invoices.

Users: 3 Client Users with Admin functions, 5 Client users with browse, find, 20+ browser-based users with view, find, and report-run abilities.

The project will require the construction of custom user-templates and button-based scripts for 4-levels of users, security levels set for each grade of user, tools to assist in the original data-build of 35 volumes (ie batch inputting paper-based contract archive), scripts to capture keywords and build volume indexes.
