Hello everyone!

I recently took a position finding work for 85 developmentally disabled adults. One thing we do here is run operations for a small company that manufactures dried food products such as soups, baking items, etc.

We have 110 inventory items and everything is manual.

We needed a system that could be accessed by a MAC and PC's and Filemaker seems to be the best solution. Have a rather basic question.....

We need the software run on a third party computer system that can be accessed 24-7 via the internet. How do we make that happen, keeping in mind that we are in Human Services so money is always an issue.

Thanks

Rick

Up to five simultaneous users and up to ten files, you can use Instant Web Publishing to share your files using an internet browser. For specs, see http://www.filemaker.com/solutions/share_data/publishing.html

Otherwise, you need a licensed copy of filemaker on each client machine (and probably filemaker server for better performance). Using Filemaker Server Advanced, you can host many more browser clients (and still do without copies of filemaker pro on each client).

However using web publishing, you do not have full functionality e.g. for scripts. But it's not that limited.
