colour coding marks

I want to set up a database to record students marks. I want marks > 90 to appear in a box or container that is red in colour, marks in the 80's to have a blue container.... the mark would dictate the background colour behind the grade. Any suggestions. I had a solution a number of years ago but have not been able to find the source. I know it involved container field with set with several repitions...then I'm lost

Thanks in advance for any advice

First make a single record prefernces table with container fields containing the colour swatches for the field backgrounds. Create a relationship from the student marks table to this prefs table. Then create a calculation field along the lines of:

Case(

mark > 90 ; prefs::red ;

mark > 80 ; prefs::blue ;

...etc

)
