Kieran Jarrett
I've created a stock inventory db. For each time a product comes in it gets given a GIN number. For each GIN there is a record which has a field(quantity) saying how much came in. There is then a portal showing the different times an amount of that GIN has been issued. There is then a sum field(total used) to calculate how much has been issued and then a field (total left) to calculate how much is left. What I need to do is have a validation on the total left so that it won't let it go below 0 (ie issue more stock than is left in that GIN) Is this possible and if so how? It's on filemaker 8 and on windows.

Kieran Jarrett
Tried clear cookies in Safari. Didn't work. Used firefox and worked. Yes that's what I wanted. I can't believe it was so easy. Thanks for your help.
Kieran Jarrett
Just had another look at this. For some reason it doesn't work for the first time a record is created in the issue table. ie. the first time some of a GIN is issued
comment
You need to commit a new record, before you start issuing outgoing amounts.
Kieran Jarrett
The incoming amount is committed before the outgoing amounts are issued
