Ranking system with serial

I have some data sets which I need to rank. So far I have created a script to sort in ascending order and then Replace Field Copntents with serial numbers.

This works great except that any field for which I don't have data (blank) gets sorted to the top and gets top ranking.

 

Is there a way to either get these blank fields to sort to the bottom or to get it to ignore blank fields when replacing field contents.
