Menu in portal: Non-resetting? Live scrolling?

I've created a list within a portal, from which users can choose a record to browse.

After the user clicks on a name in that list, the portal refreshes itself and returns to the top of the list. Is there any way to prevent this? Ideally, the menu item representing the selected record would remain either highlighted or at least in view.

Also, is there any way to implement live scrolling? As it stands now, the user can drag the handle in the scroll bar and jump up and down the list, but there's no way to tell where you'll end up before you let go.

Thanks in advance!

In Layout setup, disable "Show field frames when record is active". This will prevent portals from returning to the first row when clicking outside the portal.

If you want the selected row to remain highlighted, you will need to roll your own highlighting. Just set a global with the record's ID, then use a calc of Case ( gHighlightID = RecordID ; ... ). The result can be a container, or a text string of g's in Webdings font.
