Therese Posted July 23, 2002 Share Posted July 23, 2002 Hi, Has anyone experienced problems associated with bulk emailing from FM using the Send Mail script. My problem is that when I Send a bulk email - using Outlook express - putting my email address in the BCC address field, if any of them are incorrect it seems to halt all of them from being delivered. andygaunt Posted July 23, 2002 Share Posted July 23, 2002 Hi, I use SMTPit by Community networking systems www.cnsplug-ins.com This allows you to send single or bulk emails, be they plain text or html from within FileMaker without the need for an external email client. The benefit of this is you can personalise the emails from within FileMaker and each eddress has its own email. It will report if any fail for you (with good scripting that is) and if one fails it wont halt the rest from being sent. Alternatively, you could use the send mail script step, but loop through the found records, sending one email at a time. This will fill up your sent items in your email package rather quickly if you are sending a lot of emails. You will also want to work in pauses and cache flushing into your script.
