Global Variables with multi-users?

When using global variables in a multi-user environment, is their a global variable set aside for each user or do all users share the same global field. Say for instance you are using a global variable to flag certain records based on a user preference, but you have another person doing the same process on another computer. Does that global variable get overwritten with the other users choice or does FMP create 2 instances of that variable independent of each other? Need to know because either way has some serious drawbacks, but I need to know how it behaves.

Thanks,

Global fields are local to each user per session. So there is no issue with them being overwritten by another user. However, you should be aware that when a file opens, globals' values revert to what they were when the host last closed the file (if users are hosting) or when the file was last opened apart from Server (if FM Server is hosting).
