Validation of Data - Define Fields

Greetings,

I have a dbase in which a user will enter tickers (primary key) in order to bring in desired performance data. I am, however, wanting to validate which tickers are actually input based on a particular value of a separate field .

 

For instance, if = "large value", then the only ticker that can be entered into the field is "r1000v". Other entries will be rejected. I need these tickers b/c of the relationships involved, therefore I cannot just make this a simple calc.

 

I haven't done much with data validation, so I'm curious if this can be done.

 

Anything would help.
