VFXbeth
When I put an oval button on a layout (exported or saved in PNG or any other format) it still has a rectangular boundary for handling. I wouldn't care about this, except that when a user clicks on the button, I'd really like the highlighting or shading that flashes to be the shape of the button, not a square over the button. Is there a work-around for this... what am I missing?
FileMakin' Tom
It's very simple - do not assign the script to that actual button. Create a false shape approximating the shape of your button using tiny circles, differing lengths of lines and tiny rectangles. Once they cover the area you wish to flash, group them, select "None" for line and fill and then assign the script to the grouped shapes. Now lay the invisible group over the button and . . . Voila! Now ze button clicks as it should! BTW - if you send your email address to me at fmguru@tampabay.rr.com, I can send you a file showing how this is done. Tom Be well . . . VFXbeth
See... now... normally I'm a pretty clever person... and I should have totally thought of this on my own. (Thank you!) I feel like slinking away sheepishly. But instead, I'll just get to work. I totally understand your explanation - it makes perfect sense. Thanks, again!!! b.
