Stored Calculation field with literal constant

Hi,

I defined one stored calculation field called "Major" which has the literal constant such as "MAJ". When I imported a lot of records into the database, the field (Major) shows the blank instead of "MAJ". A lot of relations are based on the field, so it is really frustrating. I have used the same file almost one year without any problem, but all of a sudden the problem occurred. Any kind of help will be appreciated.

If it's an auto-enter calculation field, then you need to specify auto-enter functions to be performed in the import definition. If it's a normal calculation field, this should not be happening.

If the field is only a parent key and not a child key, you could also make it a global, and insert the text, or a global calculation, and not have to worry about the import.

Thank you for the suggestion. I just found that that issue was solved in Updater 2. When my computer support reloaded the computer, they installed Filemaker Pro 7 Updater 1. As soon as I installed Updater 3, it is working fine.

Thanks.
