bigzilla
Just call me Mr. Frustrated, I converted files from FMP 6 to 7 and everything works great. I then converted the files from "7 separate files", to "7 all in one file" and my value list no longer works. The file I used with the separate files is now incorporated into my all in one file so I can no longer select it. If I try to use the new value list I created, it tells me "Nope, you are trying to create a circular whatever"! If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about I'd sure appreciate your help... I'd like to scrap the whole thing. I don't get why it converts fine doing it one way and NOT the other! Thanks for helping, Bill
-Queue-
Is your value list a full list based on a related table or conditionally based value list? It would help if you elaborated on your table structure and the relationship used for the value list (if any).
bigzilla
It's from a related file. I have an automobile file with makes and models. When Chevrolet is selected from the Makes field (and that works fine) I go to the models field where the Chevrolet Models only, come up.. This is what I can't get to work. -Queue-
Create a relationship (if one does not already exist) between Make and the other file's make (or a self-relationship if they are contained in the same file). Then base your value list on the related table 'starting from' the table where you select the Make.
