web edit request without -format parameter

I am trying to integrate a flash with filmaker. I am having no problems pulling XML out of Filemaker, but when I want to edit or delete a record, the only way I can find of doing so requires bringing up a new URL. With something like:

 

 [url]http://www.whatever.co.uk/FMPro?-db=whatever.fp5&catagory=myCatagory&name=myPage&address=myLink&createdBy=myName&-format=apageidontwanttoappear.html&-new[/url] 

But if I remove the -format parameter it comes up with an error.

 

Anyone have any ideas?

 

I don't want to load the same page again because that will mean reloading the Flash movie from scratch and losing any information it holds.

 

Any suggestions at all will be very much appreciated.
