adding text feilds to calcs

Ron

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Due to the limited email scenario in filemaker which allows you to send 1 field in an email, I am trying to add a few fields and some text to calc which would be set to a global which in turn could be emailed in the subject.

Example fields:

ExpirationDate - date

AmountPaid - Number

Login - text

FullName - Text

What I am trying to achieve in the calc:

Dear "Fullname" - "Login", Thankyou for your payment of "AmountPaid". This payment has advanced your accounts expiration date to "ExpirationDate".

Thank you for any assistance.

Kind regards, Ron

Hello Ron,

I think you should set the quotes the other way round:

- set the literal text between quotes

- set the field names not between quotes

- both separated by an &

- you will have set the date to text, too

So if you set your script like this then it should work, no?

Set field [gText, calculation*]

Send Mail [No dialog, "gText"]

*calculation being the following:

"Dear " & Fullname & " - " & Login &

", ¶¶Thank you for your payment of " & AmountPaid &". This payment has advanced your accounts expiration date to " & datetotext(ExpirationDate) &"."
