simple report calculation, sorry for the simple question!

I have a text field "Call Status" populated by a value list that I am trying to report on. I want the report to calculate how many records have this field populated with the text "Closed" and to provide a total. Doh. I need to take lessons...

I have created a calculation field to do this but I just don't know the fuction (or the syntax!) to use. Thanks!

Select the "Count" function in calculation setup such as:

Count(YourField)

This will return only those fields which have something in the field.

If the field has anything in it, the count function will count it a "1". If you wish to find a count of specific text, then create a calc (number) field as such:

Case(YourField = "Closed",

1,

0

)

This will number only the fields which contain "Closed". Then use the Count function to add this field up or use a summary field to count the above field.
