Starting script on remote machine

Is it possible, from a filemaker document on one machine, to start a script on another by pushing a button ?

I want to fire up a script that re-boots all the databases on our server, if one or 2 have been switched off by mistake. but activate this from the clients machine.

i know you can activate scripts via a web page, but can I do it from the application itself ?

Do you shut down your server? Or the files inside it?

We leave the server running at all times and only the administrators are allowed to open your close server files.

Clients may open or close them through the network, But are forbidden to even touch the server itself.

The answer to your questions is yes (somewhat)

You can activate script on other machines if they are on and have files open. Except Anotoli is correct the FMP server does not run scripts. If you also have a client version the sever machine the client can not see the host.

Thanks for the replies.

Sorry, when I said server, I should of been more specific, really it's just another client version sharing 6 or 7 databases with 3 other people.

The machine automatically switches off every evening at 6pm and auto restarts at 7:57am, Startup items opens a script "Open all' which basically opens each of the 7 databases.

The machine is unfortunately used for other things, so sometimes databases get closed by mistake, (although they are hidden now, which reduced this risk).

Just would be good to trigger this script from a remote machine. (also curious if it could be done )

any ideas.
