THeavey
I am new to Filemaker, but old to programming. I do not read so well on computer screens and I have a pretty print utility that I like to use to learn new code. Is there a way to export the raw text of my scripts. I have set up a generic text printer, but Filemaker wants to format the output to make pages that adds a lot of blank lines etc. TIA for your help. Mariano Peterson
It is difficult to output the contents of FileMaker scripts as text. One approach is to use a PDF print driver such as Adobe Acrobat. I think there may also be a plug-in which extracts that contents of scripts as text. Also, you could purchase FileMaker Developer, run the DDR tool on your files, then find and export the scripts from the resulting DDR files. However, I think the DDR truncates each script step after a certain number of characters, so this may not work too well.

Avalon
Depending on what platform and print drivers you use, you may also be able to pause the print queue and open the print spool files in a text editor (after printing your scripts that is). I've had some success with this, but it only seems to work with some of the non-postscript printers.
