Trying to import a date field that is in YYYY/MM/DD format into a custom date field defined the same way and I end up with question marks in all of the date fields. How do I fix this?

Trying to import a date field that is in YYYY/MM/DD format into a custom date field defined the same way and I end up with question marks in all of the date fields.  How do I fix this?

I think the custom date field is only for display. The date is coming in according to how the computer operating system is set up. Try importing into a text field so you can see how the date is formatted. Then import into a field with the same format and then use the text formatting functions to convert to what you want it to be in a separate field.

One potential way, if you are using a current version of FileMaker, is to substitute the "/" with a "+" and wrap it in a GetAsDate.

GetAsDate ( Substitute ( $date ; "/" ; "+" ) )
