categories - sub categories

Hello

How would I do the following:
I have a table with category codes and their parent category.
Also a product table with product code  (sku) and category code. The relation is based on category code.
There are 4 category levels (category / sub category / sub sub category / sub sub sub category)

How do I get the category / sub category / sub sub category / sub sub sub category of every product?

What do you mean by "how do I get..."

How do you want to get it?  Report? One giant list view?  If you want a report showing everything, then maybe research Virtual list in FileMaker.

If you want a list view with arrows that open up sub categories and so on, I saw a thread where someone created that, and maybe had a sample file but I just can't seemed to find it.

Maybe this:

or this:

hi
thanks for the suggestions
I meant in fields in the product table (fields category / sub category /etc)
The products table needs to be exported to csv eventually
all the cats and levelled subcats have a cat_code and its parent cat_code

Are you asking how to make a conditional value list work?  Where you pick a category in Field A and then, based on what you picked, the dropdown value list for Field B shows only the subcategories relevant to what you selected in Field A, and so on?
