I have a text  file which I would like to import into my database.

There are may lines which are either blank or have information which have no relevance to my database.

Does Filemaker have a command to open this text file then read each line and the based on my formula write this information into my database.

This happens to me when importing an excel File.  In my case the excel files have account numbers for the records I want to import, and blank fields in account numbers for 'records' I don't want.

What works for me is to import to a utility layout.  A simple script that does an import, does an Omit Find for the records I don't need (blank account number field), delete all, then move the remaining good records to the proper table.  Checking of course along the way for errors.
