missing calculations on summary report

I have encountered an oddity?  I created an invoice style layout but the last sub-summary doesn't perform the calculation.  What I find odd about this is that the same calculation works in the instance above.  Pictures attached to demonstrate.  Anyone have thoughts?

edit - so I figured out what was happening.  I have my layouts set to count instances of a non-empty field.  In this case, there was no data for that field and the usual "-" to indicate this was missing.  Once I had added in the dummy data to indicate 'not applicable' the report worked.
