J-9
In the past, I have allowed my web users to access databases posted on FileMaker servers in the following way. I created a "fake" database whose only purpose was to open the "real" database on the FileMaker server. I put a hyperlink to the "fake" database on my webpage; my users are using Netscape 4.75. I know there are more elaborate ways to do this, but can anyone explain why, when clicking on the hyperlink, my users are now asked to save the "fake" database instead of having the "real" database opened? David Head
Sounds to me like a Helper preferences setting in your Netscape client - it is set to save rather than open the document that is linked to. Check your preferences for that filetype (.fp3 or .fp5).
J-9
Under the Preferences | Application, FileMaker databases are set to be handled by the application (C:/Program Files, etc.).
