Hosted solution slow to launch

I have a solution hosted on our server with fm server 14.

 

When opening the database from outside the local network the launch speed can take up to a minute.

 

You are quickly given the login box, then a delay in launching.

 

I have stopped startup scripts to see if that has an affect, and also "landed" on a layout table with little information.

 

Neither seems to change the speed after the user logs on.

Once it's up at going it's pretty good, there are a few things I need to address but I am happy with the speed.

 

Does anyone have an idea what would cause the initial slow speed?
