loop to create different files

In our current system, a script allows you to gather all the parts and create a PDF of information. There was no purchasing type. Now there is purchasing type. The contents of this field can be wholesale, retail or wholesale and retail. When the purchasing type is both a separate PDF for each must be generated. I am stuck on the new addition to the script. How would I do a loop so that if purchasing type is retail one file is created, if purchasing type is wholesale on file is created, if purchasing type is wholesale and retail, one file of each is created.
