Script to set trigger

I have a script ["ValidatePassword"] that runs OnObjectExit when I leave a field ["Password"]. The script checks to see that the password meets certain criteria. But I need to be able to clear this field later in the script--without triggering the Validate process all over again. I've set a field "SuppressTriggers", which, when it is notEmpty, should keep the trigger from running, and after checking the password, my script sets an "x" in this field, but when the script reaches the "Clear (Password)" step, the trigger activates anyway. I'm hoping there is a way to dynamically activate and de-activate the trigger via script steps. Thanks so much.

Insert this exit logic into the (edit) beginning of the script that is triggered by OnObjectExit:

If (IsEmpty (Password))

...Exit Script

End If
