SQL query in container fields?

Hi,

My FMP solution connects to a MySQL database. In FMP I have added a field to one of the tables. It needs to be either a calculation field or summary field because the table is an SQL Ghost table.

My question is can I run an SQL query in a container field? I want the container field to contain a single numerical result from the SQL query.

This raises the broader question of how do I run SQL queries in FMP? I know theser is an execute SQL script where I can run a query but then what? How do I get the results of tha query into a field(s)

Thanks

Dino
