formtec
Good morning! Our department is trying to figure out a way to issue blocks of numbers for invoices (say, 1500-2000). After issuing these number blocks, we would like to send a FileMaker form to the user, which has been set to only allow invoice numbers to be created within the preset number range. Every time the user creates a new record, the number is incremented by a value of 1. When the user goes over their set number range, it fails out and sends a message, asking the user to contact our office for an additional form with a new number range. However, the built-in validation does not work! I cannot figure out how to get the validation to check every time to see if the number is still within an acceptable range. I tried the simple If (Invoice No. Any suggestions? I'm stuck here. Thanks!
formtec
Additionally, this is FileMaker 5.0, if that helps.
AHunter3
Is Invoice Number a numerical field, as opposed to a text field?
formtec
Yes, that is correct. Even though the field is set to a numerical value, it is still not evaluating the range correctly.
