tjwright
I created a new address book to help organize mailing lists. I exported the selected records to csv. and also tab and merge files. When I attempted to import these files into the address book (for openwebmail) and for Mail(mac program), they said that it wasn't a true tab or comma-delimited file. So Filemaker says it is, and they say it ain't. What to do? BTW - upon examination, the files look the same, and - no commas apparent to me. I'm using 8.5 on an intel Mac. Thanks for any ideas
Mike Burke
I have a similar problem, tjwright. My company uses a couple of web-based applications (e.g. FedEx Online Shipping) which require an import of data from a .csv file exported from Filemaker. The data works fine when exported from a PC, but something doesn't work properly when exported from a Mac. This is an annoyance because we had to purchase a PC for the sole purpose of exporting data. Sorry I can't help, but I share your frustration. I'm using FM 9.0 on an Intel Mac, OS 10.5.4, which I just bought a month ago. Prior to that, my G-5 had the same issue. Are the file contents the same in both? Perhaps there's some character encoding issues?
