converting old filemaker to new?

I just upgraded to the new filemaker Pro 9. I need to convert my old databases to 9 but I cannot figure out how to do that.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Unless it's positively ancient (like FileMaker Pro 2.1 format or even earlier), you just go File, Open, navigate to your old files and open them and it converts them.

EDIT: Your profile says you have FmPro 5; the above will work fine for you.

Doing that just converts the format without optimizing them for ideal deployment in the new version's environment. If it's a single-file flat-file solution, no biggie, but if it's a complex multi-file solution you might need to do things ranging from fixing the file references (under Manage --> Manage External Data Sources) to rebuilding the whole thing from scratch in a single file, using the converted old files as a guide & partial template.
