MGroves
I'm fairly new to Filemaker, and have recently been getting a message that Filemaker is "scanning for unused blocks" when I try to open a Database that we use on a daily basis in the office. I saw a thread about this from a while back, but I thought maybe someone might have some additional help! I'm here waiting for my database to open...smiley-frown Thanks, M
Ender
Could be it needs to be compacted (Save a Copy As... (Compacted)). Make sure you are not attempting to open a file from a network shared volume. Files should only be opened locally, or with FileMaker's network protocol (via Open Remote).
MGroves
I had tried saving a compacted copy before, but second time around it seems to have worked. Thank you.
AHunter3
I most often see that dialog when a file was not shut down properly.
