95ctorry
Our small business uses a Filemaker database to record sales information. Having previously requeired a username and password, our master database suddenly logs in without asking for this and has limited access privileges (i.e we can no longer delete records). We cannot work out how to restore the password protection or privileges. Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated! Thanking you Chris
Maarten Witberg
looks like someone changed the file options. Start the solution while pressing down the Alt key. You should then get a login prompt. Then afterwards go to menu bar->file->file options and reset the startup options to log in using a named account
95ctorry
That seems to have worked, thank you very much! Chris
David Head
Start the solution while pressing down the Alt key. Just for clarity, that key is Option on Mac and Shift on Windows. Looks like the OP did the Alt -> Opt translation OK. smiley-wink

Maarten Witberg
Looks like the OP did the Alt -> Opt translation OK it says "alt" on my mac keyboard... and that squiggle also that looks like half an oven dish. It's a bit confusing that a key which is named "option" should be marked "alt" don't you agree? ah well. there's worse things.
AHunter3
that squiggle also that looks like half an oven dish. It's a bit confusing that a key which is named "option" should be ma ⌥ ? I think it's supposed to represent a switch. Option, alt, switch, fork, else...
