I have a length field count below it which does count the characters but not until you've completed. The final report tied to this table has quite a few fields that accounting needs, because of this the note section needs to be limited characters. It's not necessary to have a live count, but it would help them to be able to stay within the character count rather than realize after they've typed their note and have to edit it. The problem is the validation message won't pop up until after they have completed typing, which makes sense but from a user standpoint they don't like it, (go figure) and want it to show the character count as they type. Was just hoping there was another way in Filemaker to do that, but alas not without the aid of a plugin as Weetbix mentioned. Thanks again.
