Cindee
I'm using Filemaker 5.5 and I know how to create an email in it but is there a way to include my customers name in the body message? I'm using "Send Mail" script. To: Field Value: blah blah Subject: blah blah Message: This is where I'd like it to say: Dear(Customer Name field) blah blah blah Is this even possible in 5.5? AHunter3
Sure! Set Field [g.GlobalTextField, "Dear "&CustomerName&": blah blah blah"] Send Mail [To=EmailAddy; Subject=whatever; Message Text = g.GlobaTextField]
Cindee
Thank you! That worked great with the exception that when I first tried it, I put in "Dear" instead of "Hello". Now when I test it, it says "Hello Dear... Below is what I specified. "Hello"&Bill To First Name&":¶¶Thanks for your order however the color was missing." Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Cindee
Opps! I figured it out. I accidentally had entered Dear in the customer name field along with the actual name. So the name was Dear Jane instead of just Jane. Thanks again. I've been wanting to add this to my email for a long time, just didn't have a clue how to do it. smiley-smile
