rsync problems

rsync worked fine with filemaker 8 over the network. Now when I use rsync on my database file, it will not open with filemaker 9. It says the file is corrupt, and tells me to recover it.

 

Yet, it still opens fine with filemaker 8... : /

 

any pointers, my hopes aren't to up for this one. It looks like I am going to have to kiss my easy backup system goodbye if I am using filemaker 9.
