Jim_Shelton
I am using the send event to open an ftp application. Does anyone know how to close the application from Filemaker? The ftp application will not automatically close after file transfers are completed. I cannot leave closing the app up the the user. If not, my overall goal is to have a time user stamp in FileMaker of when files went into the ftp. thanks, Jim
touchMe
don't have FMP close your FTP application, do it with an external AppleScript (saved as an application), triggered by FMP if needed
Jim_Shelton
Sounds good, but I would not know where to start. And the users are on PC. Jim

AHunter3
I am totally not a Windows person. Does the Windows OS have ftp capability built in at the command line level the way OS X does? If so, you can use send event to cmd instead of to an FTP program, and the command includes the entire instruction to copy the file. There's some DOS command to close the command window itself after running it, a "flag" at the end of the command or some such thing.
