Calculations not updating

Hi,

 

I've put together a layout that includes a portal. The portal only shows a couple of fields from the related table. The portal also includes a button on each row to go to another layout where all the fields of the related table can be edited.

 

There is also a field on the first layout that sums from a field in the portal.

 

When I go back to the first layout from entering data in the related table, the portal has updated. However, the sum field does not update. Sometimes I have to close the file and reopen it before the field updates.

 

The sum field is a calculation field using sum(field) calculation.

 

Any ideas?

Is it possible that your calculation field is indexed? I've had similar problems before and had to turn off indexing. That way, my calc field updates whenever the data it's calculating changes.
