filem
Hi Just wondering if it is possible to run a script from say Database 1 and have it delete all the records in Database 2 – just with one button click and have it performed without dialog. Thanks Filem
AHunter3
Sure. You have to first create a script in Database 2 that does this: Show All Records Delete All Records [no dialog] let's call that script "Delete All". Now go back to Database 1 and create a script that does this: Perform Script [remote script --> pick Database 2 by navigating to it --> select the script "Delete All" from the list of scripts that existin Database 2]
Jack Rodgers
I've found it clearner to create a 2 in db1 for db2 and perform actions on it. It will behave just as if it were inside db1. Assuming of course that the two dbs will be forever part of the same solution in the same folder.

filem
I'm not sure either. Perhaps Jack can explain that one. Filem

If I were 2 read the sentence 2 U, yew wood prah bubbly put it 2 gather in your mined. Wood yew knot? For clarity: In the relationship graph, click on the new button, locate the file in question in the dialog and accept it. Now you can operate on that file just as if it were a table within this file. AHunter3
2 = TO What is there to understand? Oh! ::slaps head:: 1 @m ƒ0g3Â¥. But user is in FileMaker 6. You can't put a TO of a table that's in an external file when you're in FileMaker 6. If this were FileMaker 7+ I'd totally agree with you. Jack Rodgers
My apologies. There is no error message in this list when I post a 7+ concept in a -7 thread. Perhaps I am getting a bit lazy in letting Filemaker trap all of my errors... Which brings me to a change to wander off topic a bit. 20+ years ago when I was deeply involved in master the Macintosh, I found a local user group and went to one of the meetings, bleery eyes and suffer withdrawal pains from my Mac. I stood among these people in shock for a few moments before I realized I was looking for their next/previous and close buttons... Some day I'll tell you about the channel changer. AHunter3
Yep. Embarrassed to confess how often I've left something at the office and thought I'd just remote in and snag it that way. (And do what, attach my forgotten umbrella as a file attachment? FTP it to my home umbrella stand?)
Jack Rodgers
I use my transporter and energize it. Sometimes I just go back in time and remind myself to not forget.
