tycus
i use FmPro 5.0v1 (running under XP on a PC). some of my FM files are getting BIG- one's approaching 8 megs, and could grow a lot bigger. * QUESTION: is there a limit as to size? (as long as i have the ram, and HD space)? - thanx!

AHunter3
It's so nice to read from someone who regards their 8 MB file as getting "BIG"
pete
Although FileMaker state the limit to be 2 Gb it is also related to the number of and complexity (ie., lots of calculation formula) of the fields within the file. I work on a somewhat older .fp5 system where the main file has 1726 fields of which around 800 are either stored or unstored calcs. In it's production environment as part of 60 file system of which 25 have direct links (relationships) to it. It has a hard safe limit of around 1.7Gb. Once around that size it is not a case of will it crash but when. Have a Great day! * *pete.
