Case & incremental numbering

Hello, some advice please.

I'm trying to get incremental numbering to work with four options using 'Case'.

Field one is a drop-down list of engineering disciplines : Civils, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation. Field two is a Request For Inspection Identification text field, with the idea being that if you create a new record of "Civils" discipline, the result in field two should return Civil 1001, Civil 1002 and so on. The only option field that increments is "Mech"

Case (

(Discipline:) = "Civil" ; SerialIncrement ("Civil 1000" ; 1 );

(Discipline:) = "Mechanical" ; SerialIncrement ("Mech 1695" ;1 );

(Discipline:) = "Electrical" ; SerialIncrement ( "Elect 1000" ; 1 );

(Discipline:) = "Instrumentation" ; SerialIncrement ( "Instr 1000" ;1 )

)

Any guidance is appreciated
