ODBC crashes MS Query

I have some FileMaker Pro 5.0 files that I would like to query via ODBC. To test this, I am using MS Excel 2003 and MS Query on Windows XP Pro. Most of the files work fine. However, one of the files crashes MS Query every time, even on a simple query of one field. MS Query gives the "submit error report" window. If I turn on ODBC tracing right before I execute the query, the trace file is empty. What limitations or requirements of FM's ODBC might cause this to happen?
