record updating

Beginning user, thanks in advance for patience. :D

I have a pop-up displaying values from another table which, when chosen, relates a number of fields on the layout to said table (also some basic conditional text formatting).

When a choice is made in the value list, the user has to click off the field for the record to update. I'm sure this has something to do with committing the field or something. Like, the field hasn't actually chosen the data until you click out of it?

I know that it's aesthetic and trivial but it's kinda driving me crazy. Suggestions? Using FM9Adv.

Thanks a ton!

Jason.

Have you tried using Enter? Seems to work for me.

Or, if you really need to commit the record for a filtered relationship, try zippscript and have the field trigger a script that commits records.

Actually, 'enter' doesn't work. Neither does tabbing to the next field, which I would have thought would do the trick. Clicking on the blank space seems to be it. Either way, though, pressing 'enter' after making a selection from a pop-up doesn't seem very intuitive. It feels like, after you've made your selection, your entire record should update. Again, it's not a big deal. I think I'm just neurotic.
