Proper file closing

Recommended Posts

generally speaking, cmd-Q will do nicely.... filemaker will auto-save changes to records or prompt for save. any global script variables

($$var) will be set to null, and global fields will be reset to their original value (usually null).

However your solution itself might require a shutdown procedure

- if you need the values in global fields and variables retained for the next session

- if you need to close related files which are hidden

- etc.

so the answer is, it depends
