Login Window Help

When opening a solution, is there a way to script the startup so that an empty splash layout appears with the login window in front thus covering the desktop.

First, set up an account with very limited privileges. All it really needs is view access for the splash screen. No data entry, etc.

Then set up the File Options to log in using that account and password.

Then set the following script as the script to run when opening the file (again in File Options):

Allow User Abort [Off]
Go to Layout [ "Splash" ]
Refresh Window [ ]
Show/Hide Status Area [Hide]
Adjust Window [Maximize]
Re-login [ ]

That will do it. See how that goes.

David,

I am somewhat new to 8. I set up a similar splash screen and set file options to open to that layout. Now, I get the password screen. There is no password for this file. This has happened to me before and I just started over with a new file. Fortunately, no real loss occurred. How do I fix this?

Jim

Hi Jim

If you have not set up user accounts but you have unchecked the automatic login in the File Options, the log in required will be a username admin and no password. See if that gets you in.
