Conditional Value List selections

I need to come up with a way to have a field pull up a particular value list based on the selection from another field. I can't figure out what sort of filter I should apply.

 

The first table is called "Taxa" and depending on what taxa you choose (birds, turtles) another field would then be populated with just the taxonomic families of the choice from the Taxa field from either a master taxonomic family value list (all families in 1 table) or just choosing from the particular value list for the taxa (my preference, a seperate value list of families for each respective taxa) that would appear.

 

I'm trying to keep from having a table with every taxonomic family to sort through, and I didn't anticipate this being such an issue. Any help appreciated.
