Question about importing records and adding import file name.

Does anybody know if and how is it possible make a script for automatize a periodic update of time related data, that does the following instructions:

1) choose the file (tab delimited text) to import by a dialog window;

2) choose the fields to import or update

- and till here nothing difficult, I know;

3) -here is the difficult-

put the name of the choosen file in the existing text-field

of each imported or updated record.

 

This because I want keep trace of the origin of the imported data.
