MondoMail Plug in problem

I use Mondomail plug-in (Acme) to send and receive mail from various e-mail accounts. Everything ends up in the same FM8 database. I just got a new e-mail account at work where my e-mail is ben@thiscompany.com. The server is pop.mycompany.com and this would seem easy enough to add however, for some reason MondoMail is not working. I think it has to do with the @ or the dot in the user name. I've set that account up on PoPit, and there is no problem there. Any ideas?
