Toggling letterhead on and off

I want to display the company letterhead on a form and be able to toggle it on and off. In some cases we will print it but when printed to company stationery I want to be able to toggle it off.

The letterhead uses a logo. I've inserted it into container field. Then in a script I've pulled the contents of that field into a global container field and then with some conditional logic I can make it appear on a layout or not by clicking on a check box. I have the exact behavior I want and it works flawlessly--until I close the file. Then FileMaker bombs. I've tested this a number of ways and when I use a global container field FileMaker bombs when closing the file. Take out the code setting the global field and all is well again.

Any suggestions? I know I can probably do this with muliple layouts but what I'm trying to do here seems far more elegant and easy to manage.

Thanks.

Put it inside a portal.

Constant = calculation = 1

Match = Number

Relationship =

Match :: Constant

Script to Show

Set Field Match [1]

Script to Hide

Set Field Match [0]

Very nice. This works perfectly. Thank you

I wish I knew why FileMaker was bombing but then, nah, not really. FM 7 has lots of bugs. I'm waiting for my company to upgrade to FM8.

Again, thanks!

Also keep in mind you are using Mac's you now ready to go out of the box.....

I use FM at work also with Mac's have been having problems for years.

especially when more than one unit is trying to do an import at the same time.

I have (knock wood) never had problems running FM on the "Spread Sheet Machines" PC's
