Hello: I'm using FMP 11 with a Brother laser printer. I print out my business cards and did so in Sep. 2022 with very good results - using Monotype Corsiva font. Today I opened the same file to print out another batch of cards and I always to a test run on regular paper. The results are that instead of the nice Monotype Corsiva I got a sans-serif type of font. In the ViewPreview area it looks like Monotype. I checked the View/Layout area and all fields are Monotype. Having recently printed this same file I do not understand HOW this has changed in a new printing check. Could anyone HELP please?

Hello, I would like to use different fonts in my FM 17, and to print with them. Where do I find different fonts, and / or how do I import different fonts into the program ? and save them there for printing. I plan to merge into a PDF of awards certificates, and I want to use the same font for the whole document. Please I welcome your comments.

The SSD card on my MacBook Pro failed. I thought my application software was backed up using Apple's Time Machine but evidently, when the SSD card failed it corrupted my backup files. The primary symptom of my failed card was frequent and unexpected crashes. The Apples store is closed due to the pandemic so I took my computer to an authorized Apple repair place. The tech salvaged my documents but said in spite of sever efforts could not rescue my applications, including FileMaker. I am trying to work on a personal database that would scrape a certain website and put that information into a database I have been working on the excel / access route but on looking at the features of FM8.5 it seems that you can do the job totally in the FM program Can anybody give me any info on setting up an automated process with FM to scrape certain parts of a page on a website based on a common link and viewing the results in a table. Is this a pretty standard feature of any database program or is FM particularly suited to this? As you can probably tell this is by no means my area of expertise but I have the free trial and I am ready to go

Hopefully I'm just overlooking it, but I can't figure out how an EU can enter LayoutMode from a layout. The script step is suprisingly missing. I have prevented people from editing layouts, but DeptHeads need the ability to edit specific layouts. I have made their rights to edit the layout but I have also made the menu commands basic so they have to use the buttons, and lo, I don't think there is a way to allow them to go into Layout Mode. If I allow them full menu commands then they can go it, but that seems like a navigational thing not a rights. Anyone know how to enter Layout mode from a script or button?

We ask customers to fill out and return an excel file and then run a script that imports from multiple worksheets in that file. I can set the "Import Records" script step for the first worksheet in the Excel file with the "Perform without dialog" option checked but cannot do that when importing from subsequent worksheets. I have not been able to find a way to set up the script such that it will import from more than one worksheet in Excel. Setting named ranges in the Excel file seems to suffer the same problem because FMP does not provide an option for storing the names. I have a database that tracks home inspections, there are technicians, dates, times and duration. I have a calendar that I created in Filemaker that links through relationships and portals to display the services on the right days. The weekly view has 7 portals for example. The problem is a daily calendar with times in 30 minute increments (e.g. 7am, 7:30am, 8am etc...) to have it display all the appointments at the right times. Hi Gang, I am new to DB stuff and have inherited a lead list for a new home builder. I have the layouts up and running, sorting is working as required and my printed output looks good. My last task is to get the dates formatted correctly. BUT, I cannot figure out how to convert thousands of dates in YYYYMMDD format to MM/DD/YYYY format. The home office requires purchase requisitions be e-mailed in excel format. The excel form may have different data in the same column, i.e. name in cell c6 and address in c7. I have the requisition form set up in FMP9, but I understand the layout cannot be exported to Excel. The alternative is to import data from the excel purchase requisiton to FMP9 so we can keep track of budget and account balances. I have learned to do basic scripting in FMP6 but am a bit of a newbie to FMP9. How do I set up a script to import purchase request data into an FMP9 purchase requisition file?

I want to access FM7.03 data from Excel 2004 via ODBC, with everything on the same machine (running 10.3.9) - no network involved - and am getting nowhere. The ODBC driver from filemaker never manages to connect to the database, and when I try a test connect I get an error "HY000 [DataDirect][ODBC Sequelink driver][sequelink Client] TCP/IP host is not specified". This is probably a crazy idea. I know that a PDF file of the type I am considering will not import into Filemaker, directly anyway. I am going to attach an image of a page such as I am thinking of. If the page could be automatically changed to an Excel/Numbers format that would work. Anyone know of a direct way to do this?
