In FileMaker 11, I have a database (generic referenced as A) and four related database tables (generic referenced as B, C, D & E). I need a report in A that displays all related records from B, C, D & E in one report. I know that you can use portals for that, but that is not acceptable in this case for report they want. Years ago in a FileMaker 6 solution, I did this by finding and importing the related records into a single file used for generating the report then deleting all the records for the next report. In a similar requirement using FileMaker 8 I did this, as best I recall, by using a summary report to the related data but I cannot remember how. …

I can still remember the first time I created my very own sub-summary report. I was amazed at how much info I could pack into a layout with just a few sub-summary parts, a couple calculations (that automatically re-calculated data depending on the sub-summary grouping), and a simple find and sort. Pop off a couple of those and it looks like I actually do some work around this office... The only fleeting, negative thought I had at the time was "How do I do something beside print this sucker? Page Number Error

I have a sub-summary report that wont correctly display the page numbers. I would like it to restart after each occurrence - which I've checked. It kind of works, except that the first two pages are both labeled with 1, and then the number proceeds correctly. Something like this... Sub-Summary Part A Page 1 Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Sub-Summary Part B Page 1 Page 1 Page 2 Other info that may or may not be useful: 1. Parts include Header; Sub-summary; Body; Footer 2. Sub-summary part also has "page break before every occurrence" checked 3. No other parts have "page break before..." or "restart page numbers..." checked

For those of us looking for a work around for the automatic sorting in List view, uLearnIT's website has a nice rundown of one way to handle it. While the Dynamic Reporting feature is pretty cool. There are times when you don't necessarily want the list to resort after a change. There is also a video linked to the article. Summary Report Taking Too Long to Load

Hello All, I am hoping I did not set up my fields incorrectly here, but I am generating a report that consists of summary fields and calculations. There are roughly 10,367 records and around 200+ calculation fields per record. I have noticed that when I am showing all records to run a report on the progress of the 10, 367 it takes over 30minutes for my entire report to load. When the groups are smaller it is fairly quick. I have calculation fields that are unstored. Does anyone know if I should have these fileds as stored fields or create global fields, etc? Any advice you can provide will be greatly appreciated as this report is only supposed to get bigger an…

Starting with a master quarterly sales report on a table related to the master product catalog on another table, I have to report to each of my providers for the sales of their own products with a set of layouts. I do have layouts that do the trick, but every quarter, I have to make a new set of layouts to work with the new master report on a new table. Is there a way, by selecting the year and quarter wanted, to have the layouts use the corresponding master report table (which would be a variable)? Can the master report table be on a different file? Thanks.

Hi, I am very new to FileMaker. I used the FileMaker template to create a library check out-in database. I am currently working on a report to show which book has been checked out the most. I have a database which holds sensitive information. The users of the database have permission to see such information, however the reports which they generate need to be customized based on who will see the report and the intended use of the report. I realize that I can create multiple unique report layouts, but the expressed interest is to allow the user to create a customized report on the fly. In FM10 found results are dynamically maintained to adhere to sorting results. This is useful in most cases but not for some. I am trying to maintain the found sequence while managing a to do list and postponing dates etc. To do this sensibly I need to be able to maintain the found order even after the date (sorting parameter) has been changed. Does anyone know how to turn the automatic sorting off?
