How do I control the fonts, fonts, page size and formatting when printing Field Definitions and Script Definitions in FM Pro 16 onwards? I am trying to print out all my field definitions. (I know you can do this through the File>Manage>Database>Tables Print>all) I want to output this as a booklet (A5). But when I print that, it just makes everything smaller and unreadable. I do not like the font style (and size) and I want to customise the page so that it is readable in a booklet. At the moment, my option is to copy the definitions one-by-one into word or excel (or OCR the pdf) which is crazy when I am trying to speed up my workflow.

Hello all. I have a series of fields. Each has a 'yes' or 'no' based on a simple value list. If the user chooses yes, i want another field to show up right next to it. If no, then nothing should show up. At the very least i would like it to skip the next field if the user selects no. Finally, this has to work automatically (from a calculation of somesort). Does this make sense? Thank you all so much!

I inherited FIlemaker Pro 7 at work and am having a difficult time, as this is my first time using it. Client payments are entered as a record. For tax reasons, I must generate an annual report for each client of their income including tax, their income minus tax, the commission my boss makes off of their payment, and the tax on my boss' commission. I've successfully created the calculations for each record. However, when I view it in list form, sorted by Client, it shows each of these fields separated by the date and project of the individual payment. I need an annual tally of each of these fields, not sorted by date or project the payments were for. For example. …

I created and installed a database using fp7 on my old macbook and on an even older mac mini which I donated to the school where I teach. I now have a new mac air with os 10.9.5 which will no longer support the old version of the database on fp7, but if I upgrade fp on my own computer the file will no long be compatible with the mac mini at the school and they can't afford to buy a new computer. Is there any way I can run the database created on fp7 on my computer so that the 2 versions can be compatible. (I hope this is clear!) Thanks in advance!

I have been using fmp7 successfully on a macbook pro (intel) running OS 10.4.11 . I have got a new (2nd hand) macbook 2011 running mavericks and fmp7 is too old. My data bases are fairly simple, not needing anywhere near the full power of fmp7 never mind fmp13 - which I can't afford to buy anyway. Any suggestions for useful alternatives please?

Hello, I've been using FM since version 2.0 to maintain records and organize information in a health-care office. Recently, I upgraded from 5.5 to 7.0. But I am having oddball problems. The main issue is when I print out the record of a client treatment session. Certain fields won't print, are left blank - although preview (ctrl-U) looks fine. Doesn't happen consistently - that's the most puzzling thing. The fields that fail to print are lookup fields from a client master-file w. name, age, etc, but also the date, which is auto-entered when the record is created. I created a clone and imported the records to it from the old file, but this didn't help.

I'm a retired novice who set up a Filemaker pro 7.0 recipe file, made up of text lists My mac OS is upgraded to 10.7.5 and Filemaker 7.0 is not compatible. funds are limited and I really cannot afford the Filemaker upgrade. Is there someone in the Denver area that has capability of opening up the 7.0 file and then copying the text data to a Word or other mac text application file? I've tried office Depot and Office Max with no luck.

I have multiple tables. The first Table you visit when opening the file asks you to set the City you are in. You select the city. This value, I then want to pass to all other tables, as it is the key in determining all other values from complex table lookups. However, I can't seem to get it to work. If I copy the field "City" from Table 1 and paste it into a layout in Table 2, enter Browse mode, the field is blank. There is no other relationship I can create, it is the lowest level match. hello Forum members, I am somewhat new to Filemaker Pro. I have just updated an old Filemaker 2.1 database to FM Pro 7. All of that went fairly smooth. My issue comes when I try to print out on my post cards. When I print out the post cards I get one the way I want it with customers first and last name, street line and then city, state, zip, this is perfect. But, then for some unknown reason I get two more cards printed without the city, state, zip line on each. The only place I can stop this from happening is on the printer properties if I select. Print Range - select circle Page 1 - 1. The issue is I cannot print out any more than one card at a time this way. …

The first table of the database is all information about these members. The second table in the database allows for some administrative functions, which includes a roster generation. I have moved a database from from an Apple MacIntosh machine that was running Filemaker 5.5 to a Windows 7 platform running Filemaker 7. All seems well, apart from certain images on each record don't print out. The images are layered on top of one another and it seems that its printing the first one or the last one, I cant quite make it out. My question is, do I need to transfer or update printing drivers or settings in some way to make this work ?

Hello everyone. My first post. I want to access a FileMaker Pro 7 IWP database from a browser but the URL to contain the database name, account and login details. Basically an automatic login. It will only be stored on my laptop so no security issues. Currently I have the database name hidden and login in using guest account with extended privileges. I have used FileMaker Pro 7 for several years now and it is very adequate for my simple data base and reports. However we just upgraded our Mac to Lion and FM 7 no longer works. I still have access to an older computer that FM 7 works on and can switch over to it but I would prefer to change to FM Pro 11. Are there any problems I need to consider before making the move?

I am building a library of documents with the fields: DocID, TempID,SpID, Title(1), Title(2), KeyAuthor, Authors, Organization, EqmtType, ClassType. This part is easy. The hard part is to organize mutilple tables for each document which has references with varying field information. I could use the same fields above. But the question is how to get started? The purpose is of the database is to: 1) to check to see if the reference is already in my library, 2) if not make a add-to list for the library, and 3) maintain a cross relationship of references and documents. i.e., know which doc is referenced by which doc.

Each record in my FMP 7 file includes a member ID number. I also have a folder with jpg photos and each photo is titled with the member ID number. When I import new records, how can I have the photo automatically placed into each record? I have a container field in the record and I can manually place each photo into that container field, but when I have over 1,000 new records, placing them by hand takes too much time. I'm new to the department and retrieved some old Filemaker pro 7 files to retrieve some old data we now need. Unfortunately the guy who created them years ago no longer works here, and when I try to open the files it asks for a username/password. Is there anyway to get around this and get these files opened without it? thanks in advance.

One of the things they want me to do is have some checkboxes for Yes and No. But instead of one, they want one for each (they are trying to emulate a paper form). I suggested Radio Buttons, but they said No because it doesn't look like what's on paper. So, I need to make Checkboxes act like Radio buttons. How can I do this? TIA

Hi all. I am trying to import records into a FM database from another FM database in the same machine. The script is setup on the err.. child machine to show all records then import from the parent. The import is a straight update matched by unique datestamp. I can run this script fine from the local (child) file but the sheduled run of this returns an error. Firstly I have tried using the script to import from the file as a windows filepath. Next I tried to run it with the file as a remote IP address reference ie fmnet://host/filename. Problems with FileMaker I am using FileMaker Pro 7: In my database I have several layouts in list view. Some of layouts work just fine. In the others, the data only shows up in the top record of the list. I can browse the records by clicking on the pages or typing in the record number, but the data only shows up in the top record. I have 311 records in the database. When I print, it will print 10 pages, but the data only shows for the first record on each page. So I have 9 pages with the first record and then 33 blank records. The 10th page has the top record and then 4 blank records. I don't know it the file is corrupted or there is a way to fix the problem.…

When you print a record or records, they are always printed in landscape orientation. We have gone through the page setup and selected portrait, but we still get landscape. I'm on a MacBook Pro, OSX 10.6.7. I have been using Appleworks 6 for years adding up tax deductions, etc. I'd enter amounts in DB, then convert the DB to a SS. I am creating a form which will help me timeline when some objects were created. To this I would like to add options such as linking it to exhibitions they were in. Some of the objects have not been in any, others have been in 20+. How can I link this sort of information to each object without just creating a massive list next to each object with all the details of each exhibition.
